If you’re a fan of Peaky Blinders, then you know that season 6 is just around the corner (Are you counting down the days like I am?!). If you’re not a fan, you will be just as soon as you finish watching episode one! Here’s a quick rundown on the show to get you started.
Peaky Blinders is set in the 1900s and follows one of the most powerful gangs of the time, you guessed it – the Peaky Blinders. The gang is run by Thomas ‘Tommy’ Shelby, a returning war hero and follows his family as they navigate Britain after the Great War.
If some of these faces look familiar to you but you can’t quite place them, don’t worry. Let’s take a look at some of the actors in today’s digital world.
Cillian Murphy aka Thomas Shelby
Take one look at Irish actor Cillian Murphy and you’ll notice his electric blue eyes. Murphy had his breakthrough role as Jim in 28 Days Later (2002) and quickly became an international sensation. He went on to play The Scarecrow in Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). He’s currently married to artist, Yvonne McGuinness and the couple have two sons.
Paul Anderson aka Arthur Shelby
Anderson plays the oldest son of the Shelby family. He serves as the muscle behind the Peaky Blinders while his brother Thomas acts as the brains. Anderson began appearing in plays written by his Scottish playwright friend, Gregory Burke. He’s appeared as Colonel Sebastian Moran in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows(2011) and Anderson in The Revenant (2015).

The only sibling not entrenched in the gang life (for now) and the only female Shelby sibling. Rundle has mostly appeared in period dramas such as The Bletchley Circle (2012), Call the Midwife (2012) and Great Expectations (2012). As of 2019 she has been engaged to actor Matt Stokoe and together they have a son.

Bonus: Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomons
Hardy has a long list of acting credentials under his belt, and you’ve probably seen his face in cinemas but he is perhaps most notably remembered as Eddie Brock in Venom (2018), Farrier in Dunkirk (2017) and Bane in The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
